India’s men hockey team created history after winning bronze medal in Olympics. This was India’s first medal in hockey in Olympics after 41 years. India team defeated Germany 5-4. This match would be remembered for India’s goalkeeper PR Sreejesh splendid saves, most important save came during last few seconds of last quarter of the match. At one point of time, Germany were leading 3-1, soon India team scored 2 goals within 3 minutes to equalize the score. Germany scored the first goal of the match and gave Germany the lead; soon Simranjeet Singh scored the equalizer goal for India. Soon after that Germany took advantage of defenses lapses of Indian team and scored two goals in 2 minutes. Hardik Singh scored second goal for India and soon Harmanpreet Singh scored the equalizer goal for India. Rupinder Pal Singh scored the fourth goal for India in starting of fourth quarter and soon Simranjeet Singh scored the fifth goal for India and gave India 5-3 lead over Germany. Germany scored the fourth goal of the match in the final quarter. Germany created lot of chances in the final quarter but failed to score. Germany got 13 penalty corners in the match but could only manage 1 goal out of it. Indian team defense was rock solid and soaked the pressure and did not repeat the mistake
