Neeraj Chopra Bagged second Individual Gold for India at the Olympics

Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian athlete to win a medal at Olympics. Neeraj became second individual after Abhinav Bindra to win Individual gold at the Olympics for India; Abhinav Bindra won the medal for India at Beijing Olympics in 2008. Neeraj Chopra bagged the medal in Javelin throw for India, he threw javelin at 87.58 m in his second attempt out of six attempts given to every athlete. No one was close to Neeraj Chopra in the finals. Neeraj has already bagged gold in Commonwealth and Asian Games in 2018, he has added Olympics medal to his tally. Neeraj Chopra is only 23 years old; going ahead will only make him stronger and bag more medals for the country. Neeraj Chopra journey as an athlete has been an inspiring one; he does not come from a sports background, but he has still managed to come that far. Neeraj Chopra began his training in Tau Devi Lal sports complex in Panchkula, four hours away from his home. He began his training under Naseem Ahmad in Tau Devi Lal sports complex. His first throw was a maximum of 55 metres. Soon he began to improve and won the sub junior nationals in 2012 in Lucknow with a new national record of 68.40 metres. In March 2021 this year, Neeraj Chopra set a new national record with a record throw of 88.07 in national athletics championship.  Neeraj journey on world stage has just begun, hope Neeraj gold medal in Tokyo Olympics could inspire the next generation of young athletes in our country to take Athletics seriously and bring more medals for the country in next Olympics, Asian Games.
