Indian team won dramatic Lord’s test match after defeating England by 151 runs. Day 5 of Lord’ Test match began in England favour, India lost wickets of Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma. Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah put a 102 unbeaten partnership for ninth wicket and took India’s lead past 270 runs. English team got 60 overs to bat on the final day. English team lost both of its openers in first 3 overs, both of them got out on duck. Joe root put up brave fight and scored 33 before getting out on jasprit Bumrah after tea, once Joe Root got out. England team lost wickets at regular intervals and got dismissed for 120 runs in the second innings. Mohammed Siraj was the pick of bowlers for India in the second innings; he took 4 wickets in second innings and 4 wickets in first innings as well. Jasprit Bumrah picked up 3 wickets in second innings and was well supported by Ishant Sharma who picked up 2 wickets.
KL Rahul was named man of the match for his 129 runs which he scored in the first innings; Rohit Sharma had also scored 83 runs in the first innings. Pujara, Rahane scored useful runs in India’s second innings which will give them confidence going in the third test match.India’s only concern would be Virat Kohli’s form, he has not scored a 100 since 2019. Virat Kohli footwork has been an issue in current series. India hopes Virat scores good runs in the coming test matches and help India win the series.
