KL Rahul was announced as Captain of the Indian T-20 team for the series against South Africa. Several senior Indian players have been given rest for South Africa series ahead of the tour of England.
Several new faces have been given a chance in the Indian T-20 team, a squad has been chosen keeping in mind the T-20 World Cup to be held in Australia later this year. This series gives Indian selectors chance, to identify players who may get a chance of T-20 World Cup if they perform well.

Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh have been given a chance reward for their good performances in IPL and domestic cricket.
Umran Malik was bowling very fast in the IPL, at times was lacking accuracy, but definitely a bright prospect for Indian team in the future.
Arshadeep Singh has been bowling really well from the past seasons in IPL and domestic cricket. Arshadeep Singh does not have pace but bowls at excellent line and length which is difficult to hit for the batsman, in death overs Arshadeep Singh bowls with more accuracy. Hope Umran Malik and Arshadeep Singh get a chance in South Africa series and bowls well which will be good sign for Indian Cricket in coming times.
Dinesh Karthik has also made a comeback in the Indian team after 3 years. Dinesh Karthik was in excellent form with the bat in IPL, hope he plays the same way for Indian team as well.
Hope young stars perform well which will boost India’s chances in the T-20 World Cup.
