India Lose the South Africa Test Series

India lose the Cape Town in South Africa and lose the test series 2-1. Indian batting failed again, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant were the only two Indian batsman who managed to score runs.
Virat Kohli scored 79 runs for Indian in the first innings and Rishabh Pant scored counterattacking 100 for India in the second innings which helped India set a target of 212 which South Africa was able to chase in fourth inning’s quite easily and beat India by 7 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for India in the first innings picking up 5 crucial wickets,
but in the second innings could not continue the same magic as the first innings. Other Indian bolwers like Shami, Umesh Yadav to failed to give crucial breakthroughs. R Ashwin too failed in the series badly, not able to pick wickets.

Players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane time might be up as well, as they failed again. Time has come for Indian selectors to take tough calls. Non performing players should be shown door now, player status should not be seen. Indian cricket team performance has been below par since the T-20 World Cup in 2021. Indian players
have been facing fitness issues since past few months which has also been one of the reasons for downfall .

Key players like Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel were not able to travel to South Africa due to injuries.

Team selection has also been on the reasons for downfall in team performance. Players like Shreyas Iyer, Shubhman Gill, Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Avesh Khan should be given chances now. Rahul Dravid and selectors should give younger players chances more consistently now. This is the right time for team to finalize it’s team combination for next 2-3 years. For next 2 years Indian team would play majority of it’s matches in the subcontinent.

Hope we can see Indian team back to winning ways soon. Indian cricket fans have been pretty disappointed with the team performance in the past 2 years. Indian cricket team performance since 2020 New Zealand tour has been going down. India have lost ODI series in New Zealand, Australia, Sri Lanka in the past 2 year’s. India white ball performance has also been going down.

Indian team management definetely needs to set it’s house in order, to regain it’s lost glory
