T-20 Cricket World Cup is going to start in Australia next month

The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 will be commenced on October 16 with their qualifier round. The venue of the tournament this time is Australia. India will play their first and opening match against its rival country Pakistan on October 23. India is one of the 8 teams that have already qualified for the super 12 round in the tournament. Australia is the venue as well as the host for the tournament. They are also the defending champions for this tournament. Earlier in the last edition of the tournament Australia won the title of T20 WC 2021 after defeating New Zealand in the finals. This was their first-ever title in the tournament.

The matches will be played across the seven grounds in Australia. Adelaide Oval, The Gabba, Kardinia Park, Bellerive Oval, Perth Stadium, Sydney Cricket Ground, and Melbourne Cricket Ground are the stadiums that will be hosting these matches. The final will be played on November 3 in Melbourne.

A total of 16 teams are part of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and Out of these, 8 teams are part of the Qualifier round while 8 are part of the Super 12 round already.

Super 12 Round Teams–

India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, England, A1, A2, B1 and B2 ( Last four are the teams which will be qualifiers from the Qualifier Round.

Broadcast and streaming in India:

Star Sports is the official broadcaster of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in the country. Hence, Star Sports channels will broadcast all the matches of the tournament here in India. The live streaming will be available on Disney+ Hotstar, where fans with subscriptions can enjoy the matches on this OTT ( over the top) platform too.
