Andy Flower has been appointed as the head coach of new Lucknow franchise. Sanjiv Goenka owner of the Lucknow franchise confirmed the news. Andy Flower was previously associated with Kings XI Punjab franchise as assistant coach in the previous two seasons in 2019 and 2020 season. Andy Flower has been successful coach for England having helped them win their first World T20 title in 2010 and also guided them to victory in Ashes in Australia in 2010-2011. Andy Flower is highly regarded as coach and was world class player for Zimbabwe having scored more than 4000 test runs at an average of 51.5 and has played 213 ODI as well having scored 6786 runs at an average of 35.6. Andy Flower was a successful wicketkeeper for Zimbabwe. Andy Flower contribution to cricket makes him one of the great’s of the game. Andy Flower has also won the coach of the year honour by BBC in 2011.
